WAYS TO HELP
Volunteers needed to Invite our Neighbors to the Community Block Party
Would you like to help our church connect with our neighbors? Please help personally invite our neighbors to the Community Block Party by canvassing a section around BLC with invitations.
- Organize families, small groups or Bible classes to canvass a section around BLC
- Participate when a large group such as Sanctuary, Encounter, Pioneers and Owls canvass.
- Canvassing is to be done July 25 – August 8.
- Groups can pick-up flyers and canvassing information in the Bloomington Church office.
Meet our church "neighbors"! Your friendly smile just may be the encouragement they need to come and check us out so we can share the message and love of Jesus Christ.
Car Wash Fundraiser
Please come out and support the BLH 8th grade students at their Car Washes. The first is scheduled at BLC on July 25th following the services. The second will be at Living Hope on August 15th. Funds earned go towards their Washington D.C. trip in May 2011.
Relay for Life Luminaries
A Relay for Life team made up of members of our church are selling luminaries for the Friday, August 6 walk at Nicollet Jr. High in Burnsville. Luminaries can be purchased to honor or in memory of a loved one. A table is set up in the Living Hope entry and more information can be found here.
Attention Members of Thrivent Financial for Lutherans!
A new 2010 program, Thrivent Choice, has been announced for benefit members. The first phase is open to all members 16 and older. Members are able to vote on distributing $1,000,000 among nine charitable organizations. If at least 350,000 members vote, Thrivent will add another $1,000,000 to the funds distributed. Chose to vote using one of three ways:
- Go online at www.Thrivent.com/choicevote;
- Return a reply card found in the spring issue of the Thrivent magazine;

The second phase of the program will launch later this summer. Most eligible benefit members will be able to direct between $25 and $100 to nonprofit Lutheran organizations and congregations. Thrivent has yet to release all the information about this phase so look for more information this summer. Hopefully our church and school will benefit financially from this phase. If you have questions regarding Thrivent Choice, please feel free to call Duane Hadler at 651-460-4167.

cards through the church and in return the Kwik Trip Corporation donates 10% of the sales to our congregation (through August 1)! After August 1, the donation amount will drop to 5%. You pay with a check on Sunday and by the end of the week the card(s) will be mailed out to you and are ready to use at the pump or in the store for milk, bananas and more. The cards are sold in increments of $10, $20, $50 and $100 and you may order as many of each type as you would prefer.
